New SEPA Deputy Chair appointed

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) welcomes the Scottish Government’s formal confirmation that Professor Lesley Sawers has been appointed as SEPA’s new Deputy Chair. Lesley has been a SEPA Board member since 1 January 2012.

SEPA Chair, Bob Downes, said:

“I am delighted Lesley has been appointed SEPA Deputy Chair. She has been a valued Board member and colleague for many years, and brings a wealth of experience to the role from across the private, public and voluntary sectors, with particular strengths in economics, business, and communications. Lesley has been especially influential in helping develop and implement SEPA’s equality duties and women into leadership initiatives. I look forward to continuing to work closely with her in establishing SEPA as a world-leading, 21st century environment protection agency.”
