Statement on the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change (IPCC) Report

  02 March 2022

Jo Green, Acting Chief Executive at Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) said: "This report from the IPCC is a stark warning about the consequences our planet faces and of the urgent, bold, effective action required to be taken.

"The climate emergency is accelerating and risks for society will increase, including to infrastructure and low-lying coastal settlements. The people and ecosystems least able to cope are already being hardest hit.

"We must all play our part.

"Scottish business, public services, communities and consumers have a key role to play in helping reach our nation’s Net Zero goals and we must collaborate on radical and creative actions required for our world to prosper."
