SEPA statement re Forth spill

  14 November 2011

The Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA) was made aware this afternoon that a pipe carrying ballast water from BP's Hound Point Terminal to Dalmeny Tank Farm appears to be leaking, resulting in ballast water entering the Firth of Forth. At this time this is not an oil spill.

SEPA officers have been present on the site and are monitoring the situation. We are working as part of a multi-agency group to investigate the incident.

Further information will be made available when possible.
