Vincent Fitzsimons, Duty Hydrology Manager for the Scottish Environment Protection Agency (SEPA), said:
“The heaviest rain has now passed, and in the affected areas the forecast is for rain to turn to snow throughout today. The smaller burns and rivers will have peaked by now.
"We continue to keep a close eye on the River Spey at Aviemore and the River Teith at Callendar, as these rivers are still responding to rainfall and levels will rise throughout the day. We are liaising with local authorities in these areas.
"Whilst the risk of property flooding has now passed, continued flooding of agricultural land along the banks of the larger rivers in the affected area will occur throughout today.”
